Parish Orthodox Church Events and Community Home

The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church has as its purpose its calling to share the new life in Christ among its faithful and through them to the wider community. The Church is comprised of men and women of all ages living in Christ, witnessing to His good news, reflecting His love and living according to the principles and discipline of the Orthodox Church.

The Annunciation is a family that comes together at the Eucharistic Banquet every Sunday to soar to the heavenly throne of our Father who art in Heaven. The Church encompasses all our activities as a family of God, whether religious, cultural, athletic or social, because it is the love of Jesus Christ that binds us together.

The love of Christ and the willingness to serve Him resulted in the establishment of the Annunciation on Center Street in downtown Little Rock in 1920. And it was this precious calling to better serve Christ and His flock that led the Annunciation family to move to Napa Valley in 1983 and undergo a major expansion project in 2000. Although originally founded by a small group of Greek immigrants, today the Annunciation aptly reflects America and is comprised of over 200 families representing 12 different nationalities, all serving Christ under one roof.

The Annunciation Family is a vibrant, growing community of faithful servants of God. Adhering to Orthodox Christian principles, this parish continually searches for ways to better serve the needs of the Annunciation Church family members as well as to be a faithful witness of Christ to the wider community.

This Church, inspired by the Grace of the Holy Spirit, continually seeks to build upon and continue the good works and ministry of our faithful and dedicated founders who followed in the footsteps of our Lord. Many years of toil and selfless sacrifice have produced the Christ centered community that we call the Annunciation Family. And as a family we accept the labor that was entrusted to us by God and embrace our calling to be Orthodox Christians... all for the glory of God.

In the Church the joyful will preserve their joy; in the Church the disconsolate will find courage; in the Church the troubled will become happy; in the Church the spiritually weary will find rest; in the Church, refreshment beckon to the heavy-laden - St. John Chrysostom
