Saturday of Souls
Four Saturdays of the year are set aside annually for a Memorial Service to be offered in order to commemorate all of our departed brothers and sisters in the Lord. Annunciation Church family members are invited to prepare the boiled wheat dish (kollyva) along with a list of the names of the deceased prior to the Divine Liturgy on the assigned Saturdays.
At the appointed times, anyone in our Church family who will attend the Liturgy may submit the names of family and friends that have fallen asleep in the Lord so that they will be commemorated collectively during that special Memorial Service at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy.
There is not a fixed date for the Saturday of Souls but their place in the liturgical calendar will be noted in the Sunday Bulletin as well as in The Promise, our monthly publication.
